Photoshop can be used to create impeccable designs, but after hours of hard work, you end up with a static mock-up that is incapable of emulating the experience one gets when the design is converted to mark-up and viewed in the browser.

BlueDevil 1.0 Review with Videos

BlueDevil is the new KDE Bluetooth stack. This review presents the following components: KDE Config Module (system preferences), BlueDevil Wizard (for pairing devices), Systray, KDE Input/Output integration (KIO, allows you to discover and browse your devices from your favorite file browser), File reception.

After months of work in kbluetooth (the kdebluetooth fork I did), it started to work, but that spent hours made me realize that the kbluetooth never would be stable, it is a clear example of spaghetti code. Because of that, we started a new project called BlueDevil. If you’re wondering about the name, Edulix came with it while working on the daemon, and it is based on PowerDevil (the name).
After a few fridays working on it, suddenly a Spanish company sent an email to me, asking for help to develop a Qt library to deal with BlueZ. A couple of emails (and beers) later, they hired us (ufocoders) to write the library, the first big step towards a real BlueDevil was done.
It’s known that the best way to fully test a library is by using it a lot, so we started a negotiation to finance the development of BlueDevil, finally we got an agreement, we’ll pay it…

Legal action on Zombie Cookies filed in US court

Lawsuit filed in San Francisco district court after firms resurrected deleted browser cookies.

…A legal challenge has been launched in the US against a number of websites amid claims that they were engaged in “covert surveillance” of users.
The lawsuit alleges that a number of firms, including Hulu, MTV, and Myspace, used a Quantcast Flash application to restore deleted cookies.
Cookies are text files used by web browsers to store user data.
The lawsuit says that the application was creating so-called “zombie cookies” from deleted files.
Quantcast has not responded to a BBC News request for comment.
The term “zombie cookie” was coined after the issue of traditional browser cookies being undeleted by Flash was brought to light in a 2009 paper by US researchers.
The study found that more than half of sites surveyed used flash cookies to store information about the user, with some using it to “respawn or re-instantiate cookies deleted by the user”.
“Flash cookies often share the same values as browser cookies, and are even used on government websites to assign unique values to users,” the paper…

Apple has released Safari 5.0.1, which activates extensions. You can check the actual extensions here.

…Apple has released Safari 5.0.1, which activates extensions. They have some nice stuff lined up in their extension gallery, from Twitter, Bing, or Major League Baseball, eBay, Amazon, and eBay. It’s nice to see Safari catching up with Firefox…
