…Have you been waiting for Firefox for your Android device? Then your wait might be coming to an end as Fennec 2.0 is all set to release in coming days and the mobile version of the most popular web browser Mozilla Firefox is going to come on one of the most popular mobile platform.
Now things are starting to stabilize ( ) we are gearing up for the first Fennec 2.0 alpha release in just a few weeks, Mozilla’s Matt Brubeck noted in a recent blog post. Fennec 2 will run on Android and MeeGo (it has been working on Maemo for a while now).
One of the big changes in Fennec 2 is Electrolysis, which separates content rendering and javascript into two different processes. This allows the app’s UI to be responsive while the javascript is rendering and doing its thing. It also could protect the app from crashing should it encounter pages that are script-heavy. Fennec for mobile phones will also offer Sync function that will allow you to sync tabs, bookmarks, and history from your desktop computer.

Final Adobe Flash Player Available For Nexus One

With Adobe Flash Player 10.1 available for Android, Nexus One users will be able to access a variety of rich media directly from the browser. This includes in-line videos, multiple games and more.

…Tweet Monday, August 16th, 2010 at 12:53 PM PSTIf you sport a Google Nexus One with Android 2.2 you can now get the full, beta-less version of Adobe Flash Player 10.1.Previous beta versions had been available in the Android Market for a while but Adobe is finally taking the training wheels off this thing. With Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for Android, Nexus One users will be able to access a variety of rich media directly from the browser. This includes in-line videos, multiple games and more.Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean every single Flash site works as it would on the desktop. Hulu, for example, still doesn’t work on a mobile device because the company wants to charge mobile users for access to its content. This Hulu Plus service will cost about $10 per month. While the lack of Hulu is a bummer, we’ve found that Adobe Flash on Android works pretty well. In-browser video plays well and Adobe has done a lot to ensure its smartphone versions work well for mobile use cases. This includes the ability to play nice…

BlackBerry Torch 9800: First Blackberry 6 OS Smartphone

The new BlackBerry Torch 9800 with BlackBerry 6 keeps RIM in the smartphone game.

…Part of the difference is clearly processor and graphics based: the Torch uses the same 624 MHz, ARM11-class processor as in the Bold, while the iPhone 4 and top Android phones are using 800 MHz or 1 GHz, Cortex-A8-class processors that are twice as fast or faster.
Sticking with the basic Bold platform helps keep the Torch compatible with third-party software, though. Apps I downloaded from BlackBerry App World generally worked, except if they tried to hand off to the browser (like Viigo (Free, ) does.) Some apps didn’t use the touch interface, but they worked fine with the trackpad and keyboard. That said, BlackBerry is still behind other platforms in terms of delivering a rich array of apps. While I found games, business, and entertainment apps in App World, there are just many fewer than there are either in the Android Market or on the iTunes Store….

JailbreakMe makes this possible for the iPhone. Regardless of the Library of Congress ruling, Apple still uses software updates to disable jailbroken iPhones and maintains that jailbreaking can make iPhones unstable and unreliable. Jailbreaking could also void the warranty on the iPhone.

YouTube Launches New HTML5-Friendly Embed Code

The YouTube blog has just posted about a new video embed style that uses and will eventually provide a more robust experience for users across browsers and devices. The big advantage of this new embed style is that it can serve content to users using either Flash or HTML5, depending on where the video is being viewed…

…Eventually these embeds will make viewing on mobile devices much easier in in-line situations. Right now, some videos will play in-line on an iOS or AndroidAndroid device, but more often than not the video is played in its own player. As a test, I loaded the announcement page on my iPhone 4. Initially, I was shown a black screen instead of the video content. After enabling HTML5, however, the following appeared:In essence, I was still unable to get the video to play.
